Brightest Stars Family Days Out Fund

I was very fortunate that in Jacks six short years on this earth, I was able to take him on many days out and make lasting memories together. Some families are not as fortunate.

 

There is no denying that the last 18 months have been emotionally challenging for many families. Being bereaved of a child/sibling can be a very lonely time, and isolation due to the current situation can make it more difficult

 

With YOUR help and as restrictions start to ease, we would like to provide some practical support for families who have lost their child/sibling. We would love to provide them with opportunities to make happy memories as a family through funded days out. Evidence shows that spending time together away from their daily struggles can be life-changing for bereaved families.

It can strengthen family relationships, create shared family memories, provide new social and cultural experiences, provide respite from daily routine and enable children to participate fully in shared social interactions away from televisions and games consoles.

 

The majority of days out that we will provide will involve, day trips – such as a simple days out at the seaside, cinema, theme park or out for a meal.

 

First and foremost, the people we most want to help are families who have suffered from the death of a child/sibling and would otherwise not have the opportunity to go away, and for whom family day out would make a significant difference to their current and future lives.

All the families we will support must be referred to us by professionals in the community who we believe are best placed to identify those who will benefit the most. We cannot guarantee that we can full full every request but we will try our hardest.
